The Better Packing Co.
Another New Zealand success story we couldn't wait to partner with. The brain child of two inspiring women Rebecca and Kate, who were determined to improve the state of the environment by reducing the amount of plastic waste generated by the eCommerce industry and decided to start with courier packaging.
They believe that as a society we have to make a fundamental shift in the way we value resources and move from a ‘linear economy’ (make, use, dispose) to a ‘circular’ one. In a Circular Economy, resources are kept in use for as long as possible, the maximum value is extracted from them whilst in use, and at the end of the product’s service life, materials are recovered and regenerated from it.
They design products that come as close to this ideal as possible – waste products are used as their raw materials, minimal waste (and pollution) is generated in their production and at the end of their useful life they can be recycled or regenerated.
We use Better Packaging Co. comPOST bags and stickers exclusively and that's why we ask you to please take care opening the satchels so they can be reused as many times as possible :)
As well as needing a wet and dry cleaner to gently clean and prolong the life of our garments, we needed to make sure whatever we put next to your little ones skin was safe and our cleaning process was environmentally responsible.
Only a few km's down the road, we found not only a shop doing things differently, but also the recent recipient of the Keep Christchurch Beautiful award and nominee of Keep New Zealand Beautiful too.
Recognised for their innovation in using modified alcohol as their cleaning solvent, they are the first and only dry cleaner in Christchurch to use the latest technology in dry cleaning that is solvent free giving the highest quality clean with the most environmentally friendly approach.
